The Department of Pharmaceutical Science, in collaboration with Shri B. V. Patel Education Trust, successfully organized a three-day National Workshop on Sophisticated Analytical Instrument Handling, aimed at enhancing participants theoretical knowledge and practical skills in handling high-end analytical instruments used in pharmaceutical and biotechnological research.
Day 1: Inaugural and Technical Sessions
The event commenced with an Inaugural Session, graced by distinguished dignitaries. Dr. Neeta Shrivastava, Deputy Director of the Trust, and Dr. Haider Abbas Masi, Scientist B, Gujarat Biotechnological Research Centre, delivered occasional speeches, offering valuable insights and words of encouragement to participants.
This was followed by a series of technical sessions conducted by subject-matter experts: Dr. Haider Abbas Masi presented detailed sessions on High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) and Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (LC-
MS).
Dr. Kunjan Bodiwala, Associate Professor, L.M. College of Pharmacy, Ahmedabad,
discussed Gas Chromatography (GC) and Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS).
Dr. Uday Vegad, Assistant Professor, Gujarat Technological University, delivered a technical session on High-Performance Thin Layer Chromatography (HPTLC).
Day 2: Hands-on Training – LC-MS and GC-MS
The second day focused on practical training and demonstrations:
