Academic Bio Note of Dr. Falguni D. Karia

Dr. Falguni D. Karia holds a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry (1998) from Saurashtra University, Rajkot. Her doctoral thesis focused on Physico-chemical studies on some phenolic and polymeric compounds, under the guidance of Prof. P. H. Parsania. She has been associated with Saurashtra University’s Department of Chemistry since 1997, serving as Teaching Assistant, Ad-hoc Lecturer, and currently as Lecturer on a contractual basis, accumulating over 25 years of academic service.

An active researcher, Dr. Karia has presented her work at various national and international scientific platforms, including the Indian Science Congress and the International Conference on Ultrasonics. Her studies related to polymers, ultrasonic velocity evaluation, thermodynamic parameters, and molecular interaction have been widely published in reputed journals such as European Polymer Journal, Asian Journal of Chemistry, Journal of Polymer Materials, and Journal of Scientific & Industrial Research. She has also co-authored multiple academic books on Physical Chemistry published by Saurashtra University Publication.

Dr. Karia has supervised more than 15 postgraduate dissertations in the areas of organic and polymer chemistry, contributing significantly to student research training. She has actively participated in seminars, workshops, and faculty development programs, strengthening her engagement with the evolving landscape of chemical sciences.

With a strong professional commitment, Dr. Karia continues to support the academic and research mission of the Department of Chemistry at Saurashtra University.
